The Eternal

Rosh Hashanah—the Jewish new year—is a sacred time when the book of life and the book of the dead are opened and we are written in. This year, the artist asks, what has been held for them along the heavy journey of history? And what do they want to hold now? Interrogating the curse of and finding the blessing in the “Wandering Jew,” the central work of this textile installation, which falls on Rosh Hashanah, uses all the fabric the artist brought to Warsaw when they evacuated their apartment in Ukraine in early 2022.
